Honesty is the most expensive gift you can give someone. Don’t be cheap with it, otherwise, that is what you will attract and receive in life. Here are three reasons why you shouldn’t lie and what happens when you are honest.
1. You will look good when you tell the truth
Even if you think your life is airtight, you will be found out. And it will happen eventually. Just trust in the fact that the truth will rise to the surface. When you do so, your actions will be more honorable.
2. You will be stress-free, since you don’t have to remember anything
Telling the truth is far easier than lying; you don’t have to remember those inventive tales and all of the details you made up time after time to different people. Maintaining lies is incredibly tiring. When you stick with the truth, you just respond the same way every time.
3. People will trust and rely on you
Sure, when you are caught you can say “I’m sorry,” but how effective is that, really? It can’t really remedy the situation. If someone finds out you lied to them, they will never be able to trust you again. Even if you pledge to live a life of honesty and follow through, they will always wonder if you are being dishonest with them on some level.
